We knew Marc via our son, David. He always had a smiling face, and welcoming demeanor to us. Once, we spotted him at the SF Airport and found out that he also flew to Michigan for an assignment with the U. of M. Library. He took time to visit with us and explained to us about the library computerization program for the first five universities in the country. As in the Landhuis tradition, we often pack our home-made food along when traveling. We offered some to Marc while waiting for boarding. Marc thanked us and said that Stanford provided a per diem for his traveling. Not many young people would bother to spend time in the company of older folks like us. We and those who knew Marc will miss him!
