I met Marc at a Sakai meeting in Michigan and we hit it off immediately. Over the next few years of Sakai meetings I always looked forward to hanging out with Marc over lunch and dinner. His work was excellent, and he didn't hesitate to take on the most challenging jobs. His honesty, his integrity, his patience and his humor made him a pleasure to work with and made him a good friend. It's been almost 2 years since I last saw Marc, but I assumed we would meet again and I was looking forward to it.

I realize now I should have signed my post. I wrote mARC in that funny way in the title on purpose. Marc never would say why he signed his emails that way.
