Marc spent a lot of his professional life in the last few years working on Sakai, an open source software project that Stanford University was instrumental in. While I am a Stanford alum (a bit older than Marc), I didn't meet him until I joined the Sakai Foundation as Executive Director last year. Marc was one of the very first people I talked to in the Sakai community and he made a lasting impression.
Marc was a member of the Sakai community since its inception, whose work as a user interaction designer at Stanford University helped shape the Sakai release today. His enthusiasm, intelligence, kindness and infectious smile will be missed and remembered by all who worked with him on Sakai.
We have dedicated the latest release of Sakai, version 2.5.0, to Marc's memory.
Michael Korcuska
Executive Director, Sakai Foundation
